ELKTON, Md.—The University of Delaware defeated CSUN 4-3 in women's tennis action Tuesday afternoon. The dual was moved off the UD campus to indoor courts at Elkton Tennis Complex.

Doubles began where after losing at No. 3, the No. 1 CSUN team of Skyla Alcon and Monik Van de Vondel defeated Brooke Pilkington and Sara Komer 7-6 (7-4). Â The Matadors earned the point when the No. 2 CSUN duo of Alicia Dinkelmeyer and Mari Taslagyan went to a tiebreaker and came away with a 7-6 (7-5) victory over Sarah Hall and Amanda Studnicki.

Delaware (6-5) tied the score by winning at No. 1 singles before Dinkelmeyer defeated Studnicki 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. The Blue Hens won at No. 2 and No. 4 singles. Taslagyan tied the match in a three-set thriller. Taslagyan defeated Sarah Whited 6-1, 4-6, 6-3. The dual came down to No. 6 singles where Arielle Shuren earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Arpe Bagumyan to clinch the win for Delaware. Emma Roenholt played both singles and doubles for the Matadors for the first time in nearly a year. She lost in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) at No. 4. She comprised the No. 3 team with Bagumyan.

"It was great to have Emma back out there for both singles and doubles," said CSUN head coach Gary Victor. "She competed very well, particularly coming off an 11-month layoff. The doubles point was exciting, and we competed well overall. It was a good job by Delaware playing the right way indoors."

CSUN (2-8) heads to George Washington Thursday for an 8 a.m. (PT) start.
