PALO ALTO, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams put up solid performances at the Stanford Invitational Saturday.
MEN'S RECAP
Logan Cantrell went 15-9 in the pole vault to earn a second-place finish.
In the collegiate discus, Armon Hunter placed fourth (165-11).
Daniel Swarbrick finished fifth in the invitational discus (168-8).
Matthew Arnold turned in a sixth place showing in the invitational triple jump (46-3 1/4).
Parker Caston Jr placed seventh in the 400m (:46.56) and 10th in the 200m (:21.93).
The 4x400m relay of Brenden Scott, T'Jari Packard, Ben Hibbert, and Caston Jr were seventh (3:15.94).
Clint Meyer came in ninth in the invitational shot put (55-10 1/4).
WOMEN'S RECAP
Ty Wallace earned second in the collegiate triple jump (38-0 3/4). Taren Haywood placed fourth (36-3 1/2) while Niema Poindexter was fifth in the same event (36-3).
Sydney Berry finished sixth in the invitational triple jump by going 40-0 3/4.
"We had some solid performances across the board today," said CSUN interim head coach Lawrence Johnson. "We were able to get some qualifiers solidified for the Big West Championships and improve upon a few personal bests."
The Matadors are back in action next Saturday when CSUN travels to the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.
