NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams return to action Saturday at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational Saturday. The running events begin at 9:15 a.m. with the collegiate field events getting underway at 10 a.m.

CSUN freshman De'Andreah Young has been named Big West Conference Female Track Athlete of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Young claimed her first career Big West Women's Track Athlete of the Week award thanks to her debut effort in the 400-meter hurdles. Young ran a sizzling 58.15 to win the event at the Stanford Invitational Mar. 30, the third fastest time in school history. Young's time is the 10th quickest in Division I this season.

The Matador women have several other members of the team nationally ranked this week. Brandy Williams is 23rd in the shot put (52-6). Sydney Berry is 35th in the triple jump (41-1 1/2). Jasmine Pharms is 62nd in the shot put (49-9). Gardenia Centanaro is 63rd in the pole valult (12-8 3/4). Sydney Mosley is 83rd in the 100m hurdles (:13.85). Â

The CSUN men also have several nationally ranked performers. Erick Loomis' school record toss in the hammer throw of 211-4 is the 23rd best performance in Division I this season. Clint Meyer is 57th in the shot put (57-5). Daniel Swarbrick is 60th in the discus (172-3). Matthew Arnold is 66th in the triple jump (48-11) and 79th in the long jump (23-11 3/4).
