NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams head to the UC San Diego Triton Invitational this weekend.

The Triton Invitational begins Friday at 9:30 a.m. with competition in the hammer, pole vault, and the discus. Saturday's field action begins at 9:30 a.m. with the running and jumping events getting underway at 11 a.m.

The Matadors are coming off a fine performance at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational last Saturday. CSUN registered two wins and several top five finishes during the meet. On the women's side, Brandy Williams won the shot put (48-10 3/4) while Sydney Berry won the triple jump (39-10).

On the men's side, Joshua Turner was second in the 110m hurdles (:14.51). Â Michael Merchan finished second in the 5000m (14:52.06). Daniel Swarbrick placed second in the hammer throw (193-0) and was fourth (176-2) in the discus.
