CSUN surrendered eight of the first nine points in the opening set before temporarily cutting the lead down to 10-5 following Makekau-Whittaker's ace. A Thayer Hall kill equaled Florida's largest lead at 14-7 before the Gators extended the lead to 19-8 forcing the Matadors to spend their final timeout. A Johnson-Nicole Nevarez co-block gave CSUN its final point of the set (23-12) before Florida closed out a 25-12 win.
A Morgan Salone kill gave the Matadors their first lead of the match, 3-2 early in the second set. A Gator hitting error followed by an Owens kill put CSUN up 8-6 before Florida claimed seven of the next 10 points to open up a 13-11 lead. The Matadors were still within striking distance at 14-13 when the Gators used a 7-2 run to pull away 21-15. CSUN picked up its final three points on Florida miscues but wound up dropping the set 25-18.
The Gators jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the final frame and never looked back. A Nevarez kill and a Florida hitting error again cut the lead to five (10-5) but the Gators used a sizable 8-2 run to extend the lead to 18-7 before an Owens kill ended the run.
