HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â
- Trailing 5-4, the Matadors outscored the Mustangs 15-3 over the final 7:53 of the first period to take a 19-7 lead after 10 minutes of action. Serafina Maulupe scored eight points for CSUN during the period.
- Both teams shot poorly in the second period. Cal Poly was one for their first 10 before ending the frame 3-of-14. The Matadors missed 11 of their first 12 field goal attempts.
- CSUN would end the period 4-of-19 from the field. The Mustangs committed more fouls in the first half (6) than made field goals (6).
- It was a physical first half as the teams combined for 20 fouls (11-CSUN, 9-Cal Poly). A Jordyn Jackson three-pointer with under five seconds remaining in the first made it 30-17 in favor of CSUN heading into halftime.Â
- The Mustangs stayed close, only trailing CSUN 16-14 in the third quarter which created a 46-31 score.
- The physicality of the game came to the forefront in the fourth. Cal Poly committed 13 fouls which would result in 18 CSUN free throw attempts. The Matadors made 15 from the charity stripe. Jackson and Henderson were both 4-of-4 from the free throw line in the fourth.
- CSUN would take its largest lead of the game, 51-33 with eight minutes remaining when Fluker sank her fourth three-pointer of the season. The closest Cal Poly would get would be 12, 56-44, at the 3:06 mark.
FOR CSUN
- Fluker scored seven points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the first half. She also added four blocks in the opening 20 minutes.
- After going 2-for-11 in the opening stanza, Fluker was 5-of-7 from the field in the closing 20 minutes. She scored 16 of her game high 23 in the second half. The 6-4 center also charted two steals in the second half.
- Maulupe posted 12 points and three assists. Henderson would add 10 points and six rebounds.

FOR CAL POLY
- Dye Stahley led Cal Poly with 17 points. Stahley would earn 13 of her team's 16 free throw attempts on the night and made 11 of the 13 total free throws the Mustangs would record.
- The Mustangs forced 23 CSUN turnovers which were turned in 20 points. Cal Poly made 14 steals, compared to eight for the Matadors.
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH JASON FLOWERS
- "At this point of the season, you appreciate the wins. It was the first time we played all man-to-man (defense) in a while. We held them to 27% from the field, but we gave up too many free throws. We put a big rebounding number on the board."
- "We have to do a better job of executing down the stretch and extend 12-point leads to 15 and 15-point leads to 20. We will go back and get ready for Saturday."
- "Channon's 23, 20, and seven, are video game numbers. I thought the most exciting thing and what I was most proud of was her gathering the group together at the end and making sure everyone was on the same page. That is where she has grown tremendously in the four years she's been here."
