GAME 1
- The Matadors dropped a 7-5 decision to Binghamton to open the day.
- Haileigh Gonzalez battled back from a 0-2 count with two outs in the bottom of the first with a single that plated a pair of runs.
- The Bearcats loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the second. Binghamton scored their first run on a CSUN wild pitch. Kenedee Jamerson relieved Elise Madison and struck out the first two batters she faced.
- Sarah Benn was down 1-2 in the count to Jamerson before hitting a single to left that scored two runs and gave Binghamton the lead. Marissa Braito grounded out to end the inning.
- Sara Herskowitz homered to left with one out in the top of the third to increase the lead to 4-2. Megan Stevens tripled to lead off the CSUN third. Stevens scored on a Mackenzie Babbitt sacrifice bunt to cut the lead to one.
- Makayla Alvarez homered to lead off the Binghamton fourth. Chole Morgan's RBI single later in the inning increased the lead to 6-3.
- Jessica Alexander's first home run of the season, a two-run opposite field blast to right again cut the lead to one, 6-5.
- Pinch-hitter Alyssa Vazquez led off the CSUN sixth with a single to left. Sarah Duran pinch ran for Vazquez as Rayn Gibson entered the game as the third Bearcat pitcher of the game.
- Aaliyah Swan successfully sacrificed Duran to second with a bunt. Raquel Jaime pinch-hit for Journey Rojas. Chloe Morgan made a diving catch of Jaime's shot to left center for the second out. Duran was able to advance to third on the play. Stevens lined out to deep right to end the inning.
- A CSUN two-out error in the top of the seventh led to the seventh Binghamton run.
- Jillian James was the third pitcher of the game for CSUN and struck out six in a row at one point. James recorded 11 of the 16 Matador strikeouts on the day.
- Babbitt and Alexander both went 2-for-3 for the Matadors. Eight different Bearcats had one hit.
GAME 2
- The nightcap between CSUN and Santa Clara was halted after four innings with the score tied 1-1 due to darkness. The tentative plan is to resume the game in Santa Clara when CSUN is entered in the Silicon Valley Classic II Mar. 8-10.
- Gonzalez gave CSUN a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with an RBI single that drove in Babbitt.
- Eleni Spirakis tied the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third.
- The Matadors loaded the bases with one out in the top of the fourth but could not push across a run.
- With one out in the bottom of the fourth, Morgan Modesto tripled to right field. Hannah Russell grounded out to short to bring up Kelsie Bernard. Bernard's shot to deep left was caught by Autumn Cauthron.
- It was at that point that the game was halted.
