CSUN Hosts Oregon Saturday

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN returns home to the Matador Tennis Courts Saturday when CSUN hosts Oregon at 11 a.m.
The Ducks begin the week 5-1 and will play at Long Beach State on Friday before heading up to Northridge on Saturday. Uxia Martinez Moral is 11-2 in singles, the team best. She is 7-4 in doubles, playing with five different players.
CSUN improved to 2-1 with at 5-2 victory over Pacific last Friday. The victory marked the ninth consecutive for the Matadors against the Tigers dating back to Mar. 25, 2007 when UOP defeated the Matadors 4-3 in Northridge.
CSUN took the doubles point as Jolene Coetzee and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso defeated Maya Lopez and Elise Frigout 6-3. Ekaterina Repina and Jacquie Tan posted a 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles against Karina Vyrlan and Anna Vinolas Ramos. With the point clinched, No. 3 doubles were left unfinished.
Vinolas Ramos got the Tigers on the board with a straight-sets victory (6-2, 6-3) at No. 6 singles against Lisa-Marie Wurst. Tan put the Matadors into the lead for good when she swept Frigout 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.
Coetzee had to go to three sets against Dohee Lee at No. 3 singles but came away with a 6-0, 2-6, 6-1 victory. Fraile Toboso clinched the dual at No. 4 singles. She dropped the first set to Zoe Eberle 3-6 and was down 4-0 in the second. She fought back, winning 11 consecutive games, taking the second set 6-4, and blanking Eberle 6-0 in the third.
Repina fell to No. 75 Klara Kosen in three sets at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 4-6, 7-6. The dual concluded at No. 5 singles when Emma Roenholt defeated Lopez in three sets, 7-5, 5-7, 10-2.
