The Matadors opened the day in 17th-place after Thursday's 291 before slipping one spot following Friday's 292. In a field featuring trio of top-10 teams and 15 teams ranked in the Top 100, the Matadors (+7, 583) are just eight strokes out of the top-15. No. 3 Georgia Tech (543) holds the team lead by five shots over No. 2 Texas (548) with Arizona State (550) third in 20-team field.
CSUN SCORES
"It was the same thing as round one, we played well for a majority of the round but didn't close it out. It's important that we get off to a good start tomorrow and get some birdies early on but it's equally important to keep it going and not give shots back."
The Matadors will be paired with host Hawai'i, Hawai'i-Hilo and Pacific for the final round which tees off Saturday morning with a shotgun start beginning at 7:30 a.m. local time.
