Sangha Seventh, CSUN Sixth at Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Sophomore Kiran Sangha is in seventh-place and the CSUN women's golf team is sixth after Monday's two rounds of the Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
Sangha, who has CSUN's lone top-20 individual finish this season, carded rounds of 77-74 for a day one total of seven-over 151. The Matador sophomore heads into Tuesday's final round just 10 strokes behind 36-hole leader Madeline Jin of Boston College (-3, 141). Senior Brianna Steger is also in the top-20 after 36 holes, as she is currently toed for 18th at 13-over 157.
As a team, the Matadors posted team scores of 311-320 and are sixth at 631. Tournament hosts South Dakota State (601) leads the 13-team field by six shots over second-place Boston College after two rounds.Â

- Sangha had one birdie in an opening-round (+5) 77 before making birdie on three of her final 12 holes in the afternoon round to finish at (+2) 74. She was four-over after six holes in round two before going three-under over her next 10 holes to get to one-over. A bogey five on her second-to-last hole of the day left her at two-over for the round and seven-over for the tournament. Her total of 151 is her low for 36-holes this season.
- Steger had all pars and five bogeys in an opening-round 77 before a second-round 80 left her tied for 18th at 13-over 157.
- Ashley Phelps is currently 34th at 18-over 162 following consecutive rounds of 81. Julia Johansson is tied for 38th at (+19) 163 following rounds of 78-85 and Grace Bettis rounded out the Matador scoring as she is currently tied for 60th at (+24) 168 following rounds of 79-89.
