Matadors Open Tennis Dual Play Saturday Against Westmont

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN Women's Tennis team begins dual play Saturday when the Matadors host Westmont. First serve is set for 11 a.m.

Saturday will also be the dual opener for Westmont. The Warriors went 7-10 in 2021, advancing to the GSAC Tournament semifinals before losing to San Diego Christian. CSUN has won all 16 previous meetings between the Matadors and the Warriors including a 7-0 victory on Jan. 25, 2020, in the last contest involving the two teams.

CSUN is coming off the Jan. 21-23 Long Beach State Winter Invitational in which the Matadors played three days of competition in a hidden dual format against Boise State, Portland, and Long Beach State.

Ekaterina Repina went 3-0 in singles competition during the meet. Jenna Dorian and Victoria Victoria Santibañez Luna both went 2-1 in singles during the tournament. Coetzee and Santibañez Luna were a team-best 1-2 in tournament doubles play.
