CSUN Track & Field Competes at Bryan Clay & Mt. SAC Relays

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN Men's and Women's Track and Field Teams competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational, and the Mt. SAC Relays from Apr. 14-16. Here is a recap of the action for both squads.
BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL-MEN
"We saw some of the best competition this weekend, and in every event we competed in, you could tell we belonged. Now it's time to prepare ourselves for the last portion of the regular season."

CSUN competes in the Chris Rinne Twilight, hosted by UC Riverside next Friday. The field events begin at 2:15 p.m., with the running events underway at 5:20 p.m.

BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL-MEN
- Quinn Garity competed in the 5000m, Open A, Section 1. Garity ran 14:44.69, his second-fastest time of the year. Garity finished 13th in the field of 26.
- Daniel Rodriguez finished 13th in his heat of the 1500m with a time of 3:55.77 (his second quickest of the year). There were 122 entries in his section of the event.
- Noah Contreras ran 1:54.25 in the 800m. His time was his second-fastest of the season. Contreras finished 133rd in the field of 198.
- Leann Hamilton lowered her season-best in the 1500m by over four seconds to 4:52.33. She finished 45th in a field of 86 in her section of the race.
- Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck just missed advancing to the 100m hurdle finals. She recorded a time of :13.50 to finish 11th as the top nine moved on. The field featured 52 runners.
- In a 100m preliminary field of 63 competitors, Arianna Alexander ran :11.75 to finish 30th. Her performance was her second-fastest of the season.
- Sameerah Evans finished 17th in the triple jump as she went 39-6 1/2.
- David Phillips, Jr. registered a season-best:10.53 in the men's 100m preliminaries to finish 34th. There were 67 entries in the event.
- The men's 4x100m relay of Omari Williams, Raphael Adedigba, Ramir Smith, and Phillips, Jr. ran a season-best :41.13 to win its heat and finish fifth overall.
