Â
Thomassen, who had three birdies on the day, was three-over after his opening five holes. A birdie at No. 7 dropped him to two-over where he remained until another birdie at No. 11 moved him to one-over. Thomassen finished even-par over his final seven holes to finish up at one-over 73.
CSUNÂ SCORES
COACH JIM BRACKEN SAID
"This course is definitely challenging and a good test. It's not a course where the scores are going to be really low. We didn't hit the ball horribly today but we never really got anything going. Hopefully we can get off to a good start tomorrow and get under par and this team has the firepower to do that."
The Matadors will be paired with Cal Poly and Cal State Fullerton again for round two which gets underway Monday at 11:15 a.m.
