FIRST SERVE
CSUN returns to the women's tennis courts this weekend with a pair of meets from Oct. 6-8.
Sasha Turchak, Yuliia Zhytelna, Victoria Santibañez Luna, and Angela Ho will enter the USC Women of Troy Invite. The Women of Troy Invite will be played under a hidden dual format, with CSUN facing LMU at 10 a.m. on Friday in Marks Stadium. CSUN meets Pacific at USC's Rec Courts on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Matadors face UCSB on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Marks Stadium.
The remaining nine active players on the squad travel to the Long Beach State's Beach Fall Tournament. The Beach Tournament will be played using a traditional bracket for singles and doubles. The tournament will start at 10 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 9 a.m. on Sunday. The teams competing are Boise State, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Long Beach State, and UC Irvine.
THE LAST TIME OUT
CSUN completed week two of the Fall women's tennis season Sept. 29-Oct. 1 at the San Diego State Fall Classic I.
The team of Turchak and Zhytelna reached the finals of the Red Bracket before losing to the team of Santa Strombacha and Natasha Puehse of Grand Canyon 6-2. The duos of Santibañez Luna and Cindy Ung and Tallia Harper and Emma Moratalla Sanz both won their matches in the Black Bracket. (Red), Turchak (White), and Harper (Gray) won two singles matches in their respective brackets.
