A Pair of Men's School Records Fall For CSUN at UNM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.---For the third time during the indoor track and field season, a CSUN school record fell as the Matadors wrapped up the final day of the New Mexico Collegiate Classic Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

MEN
Freshman Logan Davis ran :6.78 in the 60m qualifying to advance to the preliminary round, where he lowered his school record to :6.71. He finished 13th, just missing the finals. Davis' performance breaks into the top 48 in Division I in the event this season.

The Men's 4x400m relay of De Marq Jaque, Xavier Bradford, Luke DaVanon, and Davis reset the school record by running a time of 3:12.71. The old mark of 3:12.97 was set in 2001. The team finishes 14th overall.

The throwing events for CSUN were highlighted by Francisco Isiordia, who put up a personal best in the shot of 46-0.

WOMEN
Charne-Lee Olkers ran the eighth fastest 60m hurdles time in school history, :8.61, to finish fourth in qualifying. Advancing to the event's prelims, she went :8.75 but did not move forward to the finals.

All three of the CSUN entries in the shot put Emily Hutchinson (43-9 1/2), Katherine Shipp-Davis (43-6 3/4), and Brianna Kelpis (43-0 1/4), each put up personal bests in the event.

Arianna Alexander posted a time of :7.52 in the 60m dash preliminaries to come in eighth. She advanced to the preliminary round of the event but did not start.

"We put together a great meet. Every event area came away from this meet with something to be excited about. Our confidence as a team continues to grow. This team has bought into our pursuit of being a championship-level team, and the team proved that today."
