KA'ANAPALI, Maui - Freshman Bryson Barnes is tied for 38th after carding a 2-under 69 to pace the Matadors after one round of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate on Saturday at Royal Ka'anapali Grand Resort. As a team, the Matadors are tied for 16th at 2-over 286.

"We made some mistakes today which happens with a young team. We didn't play poorly today, we just need to stop compounding those mistakes and we'll be fine. Bryson played well and is a talented player who is only going to get better."

- Barnes posted one eagle and three birdies on Saturday to lead the Matadors after firing a 2-under 69 to tie for 38th place.
- Sophomore Liam Judkins is tied for 61st at even-par 71 after carding five birdies in round one.
- Domenic De Luca and Dillon Jonke both opened with rounds of 2-over 73 and are tied for 88th. Jonke had three birdies while De Luca had a pair.
- Tavin Boman rounded out the CSUN lineup as he opened with a 6-over 77 and is tied for 117th.
- Nick Fry and Yuo Torii are competing as individuals, with Torii tied for 99th at 3-over 74 and Fry tied for 110th at 4-over 75.
