ABOUT LAST WEEK
CSUN played one game during Thanksgiving week, a home contest on Wednesday against Pepperdine. The Matadors fell to the Waves, 84-58 at Premier America Credit Union Arena, giving CSUN its first home loss of the season. Erica Adams and Kelly Tumlin each had 10 points to lead the Matadors while freshman Karsen Marshall added eight points off the bench.
In the first half, both teams got off to a hot shooting start. CSUN shot 50% from the floor, going 7-14, while Pepperdine added seven field goals as well, off of 16 shots. CSUN shot very well from three in the first to boot, knocking in four of five from downtown. However, Pepperdine seemed to match every CSUN blow with one of its own. The Waves kept up with the Matadors from start to finish, as the score was 21-20 in favor of Pepperdine heading into the second quarter.
In the second quarter, Pepperdine upped its defense while the Waves kept making shots. After an Adams turnaround jumper and a Tumlin layup cut the lead to four, Pepperdine would go on a 9-0 run before Adams hit two free throws going into halftime.
In the 2nd half, Jenna Kilty came out of the break looking to fire from the outside. The graduate student from Oakland hit three shots from deep, with all three of them being assisted by Adams who finished the night with a career high seven assists. CSUN ended up tallying 20 points in the third, matching its first quarter total. Pepperdine was also efficient from the field, hitting 10-15 (66.7%) of its shots as the third quarter ended 67-50 in favor of the away team
In the final quarter, the Matadors were getting good looks, but the shots didn't fall. The final score ended up being 84-58 resulting in CSUN's first home defeat this season.
FOLLOW THE SENIOR
Senior Erica Adams had an all-around performance last week against Pepperdine. The senior from Oakland tallied a game high 10 points (with Kelly Tumlin) and knocked down two threes from distance in the process. She also hit her career high in assists with seven on the night. Adams also found herself near the rim as she brought down seven rebounds against some tall Pepperdine players. Adams took care of the ball as well; it was her first game of the season where the senior had no turnovers. She had a block and a steal to complete a solid game against the Waves.

The Matadors are currently fifth in the Big West conference in three-point percentage at 30.1% from the field.
