CSUN Beats Weber State 7-0 to Open Homestand

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Women's Tennis opened up its homestand with a 7-0 win over Weber State on Sunday at Matador Tennis Complex. The Matadors posted wins across the board including three doubles victories along with a trio of three-set wins at singles play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CSUN earned its first doubles win at No. 3 when Angela Ho and Elena Goodman knocked off Kenadee Semenick and Jessica Hill by a 6-2 decision. CSUN's No. 1 combination of Sasha Turchak and Yuliia Zhytelna then defeated Megan Davies and Ana Morett, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point. The Matadors completed the sweep at doubles play as Victoria Santibañez Luna and Cindy Ung were victorious over Dylan Lolofie and Sicely Ferreria, 6-4.
The Matadors' Emma Moratalla Sanz registered the team's first singles win at No. 4 with a straight set 6-3, 6-4 decision. At No. 5, Nicole West also picked up a straight set win, beating Sydney Schnell 6-1, 6-4. Santibañez Luna notched another straight set win with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Lolofie at No. 3 to clinch the match for CSUN.
Tallia Harper would be tested in her singles match against Li Yang Ping An as she dropped the first set but bounced back to win the final two sets to finish with a 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 victory. At No. 1, Turchak also rallied from a first set loss to pick up a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 win over Davies. Zhytelna capped a perfect day for CSUN with yet another three-set win, defeating Morett, 6-2, 1-6, 6-2 at No. 2.

- The Matadors remain perfect in doubles in dual play with an 11-0 record this season.
