CSUN Posts Nine-Shot Improvement in Round Two at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The CSUN men's golf team posted a nine-shot improvement from round one to Sunday's round two but slipped into 20th place after 36 holes at Air Force's Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational at the Eisenhower GC.
After posting a team round of 308 in round one on Saturday, the Matadors carded a team round of 11-over 299 on Sunday. CSUN opens Monday's final round in 20th place but is only nine shots out of the top-16. Colorado State (567) continues to lead the team competition by two shots over San José State (569) while the CSU's Matthew Wilkinson remains the individual leader by four shots at 9-under 135.

"We're just a young and experienced team. We improved from the first day and hope to improve again tomorrow. We've got to cut down on our mistakes, we're capable of putting together a good team round tomorrow."
The Matadors will be paired with Utah Tech and Missouri State for the final round which gets underway Tuesday morning beginning at 10:20 a.m.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Nick Fry carded a 1-over 73 on Sunday but dropped seven spots into a tie for 43rd at 4-over 148. On Sunday, Fry had four birdies, three on the back nine to finish the day at 1-over 73.
- Bryson Barnes had three birdies and a pair of double bogeys in finishing round two at 3-over 75 to slip into a tie for 58th at 6-over 150.
- Liam Judkins slipped from 74th into a tie for 83rd at 10-over 154 following a 4-over 76 in round two.
- After an opening round 80, Domenic De Luca posted a 3-over 75 in round two and is tied for 89th at 11-over 155.
- Yuo Torii also improved from round one to round two, finishing at 5-over 77 to place 105th at 15-over 159.
- Dillon Jonke, playing in the individual tournament, fired an even-par 72 in round two and is tied for 12th at 146.
