CSUN Drops Contest Against San Jose State, 4-2

SAN JOSE, Calif -- CSUN Women's Tennis fell today to the San Jose State Spartans, 4-2 at the Spartan Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon. Yuliia Zhytelna and Angela Ho each won their singles' bouts. Elena Goodman and Emma Moratalla Sanz were winning their doubles match before the doubles point was called in favor of the Spartans.

HOW IT HAPPENED
San Jose State took the doubles point to kick the duel off. Emma Fantousis and Soledad Fayos defeated Zhytelna and Dermenjyan 6-4 in the first match. Cheuk Ying Shek and Carla Urchoeguia bested Ho and Santibanez Luna 6-4 to get point number one.

In singles' action, Fayos defeated Sydney Wilson in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1, on court No. 6. That result made the score 2-0 in favor of San Jose State.

Zhytelna got CSUN on the board in her singles bout. She defeated Ying Shek in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4Â at No. 1. That result would make the score 2-1.

On court number five, Fantousis bested Goodman, 6-3, 6-1 to make it 3-1 San Jose State's lead.

Angela Ho earned the second and final point for CSUN. She defeated Urchoeguia, 6-1, 6-4 on court No. 4. That result put CSUN one point closer at 3-2.

San Jose State then clinched the match as Duru Durgun defeated Santibanez Luna, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 on court No. 2.

CSUN has a quick turnaround as they will play Dominican University of California in San Jose tomorrow at noon.
