Second Round 306 Drops CSUN Into Tie for Sixth at UCSD Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Junior Domenic De Luca remained in the top 25 while CSUN Men's Golf team slipped from first into a tie for sixth after two rounds of the UC San Diego Invitational on Monday at Torrey Pines. As a team, the Matadors followed up a 13-over 301 in round one with an 18-over 306 in round two and are five shots out of the top five in the 20-team field.

"A lot of the teams had better rounds today; we just didn't make a lot of birdies. Dom had some chances but just didn't make many birdie putts. We're still in the top 10, and if we have a better round tomorrow we'll carry some momentum into our next event at UC Davis."

- Domenic De Luca followed up an even-par 72 in round one with a 7-over 79 in round two to drop into a tie for 22nd at 7-over 151.
- Freshman Tavin Boman carded his second consecutive round of 4-over 76 and is tied for 30th at 8-over 152.
- Freshman Nick Fry, who began the day tied for eighth at 2-over 74, slipped into a tie for 30th at 8-over 152 after a 6-over 78 on Monday.
- Sophomore Dillon Jonke carded a 2-over 74 on Monday to move up into a tie for 38th at 9-over 153.
- Sophomore Liam Judkins posted a 6-over 78 in round two and moved into a tie for 74th at 14-over 158.
- Bryson Barnes, competing as an individual, is tied for 94th at 18-over 162 following rounds of 79-83.
