Matadors 16th After Opening Round of El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. - Sophomore Liam Judkins carded a 1-over 73 and is CSUN's low man after the opening round of the El Macero Classic on Friday at El Macero Country Club. As a team, the Matadors carded a team round of 15-over 303 and are in 16th place in the 17-team field.Â

"Liam didn't have his best day in terms of his ball-striking but he managed his game well. As a team, everyone needs to play better tomorrow. We'll put this round behind us and look for a good round tomorrow and hopefully make up some ground on the field."

CSUN SCORES
- Judkins fired a team-high four birdies in round one, all coming over a stretch of five holes (14-18). He also had five bogeys to round out a score of 1-over 73 which is tied for 32nd in the 92-player field.
- Freshman Tavin Boman is tied for 60th at 4-over 76 after posting a pair of birdies, four bogeys, and one double bogey.
- Domenic De Luca and Nick Fry are each tied for 65th at 5-over 77.  De Luca had one birdie, four bogeys, and one double bogey, while Fry had 13 pars and five bogeys in round one.
- Freshman Bryson Barnes rounded out the CSUN lineup as he is tied for 79th at 7-over 79 with three birdies, five bogeys, and two double bogeys.
- Sophomore Dillon Jonke is competing as an individual and is 92nd at 27-over 99.
