Men's Golf Moves Into a Tie for 14th at El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. - The CSUN Men's Golf team posted an eight-shot improvement from round one to round two as the Matadors moved up into a tie for 14th place after 36 holes of the El Macero Classic on Saturday at El Macero Country Club. Sophomore Liam Judkins remained the low CSUN player after carding a second consecutive round of 1-over 73 to sit tied for 26th at 2-over 146.

"Obviously it was an improvement today but I felt like we still threw some shots away. I'd like to see us post six good scores tomorrow. We want to keep heading in a positive direction in our last round before conference."

CSUN SCORES
- After posting a team-high four birdies in round one, Judkins had three birdies, two bogeys, and one double bogey in the second round to finish the day at 1-over 73. Judkins heads into the final round tied for 26th in the 92-player field at 2-over 146.
- Domenic De Luca had CSUN's low round of the day on Saturday, carding an even-par 72 to move into a tie for 44th at 5-over 149. De Luca had four birdies, two bogeys, and one double bogey in round two.
- Freshman Tavin Boman posted a two-shot improvement with a 2-over 74 in the second round and is currently tied for 49th at 6-over 150. Boman had three birdies and five bogeys in round two.
- Freshman Bryson Barnes, who notched an eagle at the par-5 18th, moved up into a tie for 72nd at +11, 155 following a 4-over 76 in round two.
- Nick Fry rounded out the CSUN scoring in round two, tying for 77th at 13-over 157 following rounds of 77-80.
- Sophomore Dillon Jonke is competing as an individual and is 91st at 20-over 164 following rounds of 99-82.
