Men's Golf Tied for Seventh After Round One of Big West Championship

LA QUINTA, Calif. -Â With two players in the top-20, the CSUN Men's Golf team fired an opening round 7-over 295 and is tied for seventh after round one of the 2025 Big West Men's Golf Championship on Sunday at La Quinta Country Club.
Tavin Boman and Domenic De Luca each carded a 1-over 73 in round one and are tied for 20th heading into Monday's second round.

"We hung in there today and played a little better on the back nine. Hopefully, we'll have a good day tomorrow and see if we can move up on the leaderboard. Tavin and Dom were consistent today, but I'd I'd like to get someone under-par tomorrow."

- Boman and De Luca are pacing the Matadors after 18 holes, each finishing at 1-over 73. The CSUN pair heads into the second round just two shots out of the current top five. Boman had three bogeys on the front nine to make the turn at 3-over before posting three birdies on the back nine, where he finished at 2-under.
- De Luca had one birdie on each nine, finishing the front nine at 2-over before posting his second birdie along with eight pars on the back nine.
- Sophomore Liam Judkins is tied for 28th at 2-over 74 after carding his lone birdie at No. 9 to make the turn at 1-over. He finished the back nine with eight pars and one bogey to close out a 2-over 74.
- Freshman Bryson Barnes had three birdies, four bogeys, and one double bogey in finishing the opening round at 3-over 75. After his third birdie at No. 13 moved him to 1-over, Barnes finished 2-over on his final five holes.
- Freshman Nick Fry posted a pair of birdies, along with three bogeys and two double bogeys to finish the round tied for 50th at 5-over 77.
