CSUN Finishes Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational in 17th Place

AFA, Colo. - The CSUN Men's Golf team wrapped up play at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational on Monday, carding a final round 3-over 291 to finish in 17th place at Eisenhower Golf Course.
After posting team scores of 295-290 in rounds one and two (Sat.-Sun.), the Matadors finished the final round at 3-over 291 to finish the tournament at 12-over 876. Idaho moved past Gonzaga to win the team championship at 23-under 841, while Northern Colorado's Kaelen Dulany took home individual medalist honors at 14-under 202 following a final round 64.
Sophomore Bryson Barnes was CSUN's low scorer, tying for 28th at even-par 216. Barnes, who began the final round tied for ninth at 3-under 141, had a pair of birdies and five bogeys in the final round to finish the day at 3-over 75.

"Nick and Tavin both were under par in the final round, which is good, but we just didn't get a third and fourth score. We were a little more consistent this tournament, but we have to keep getting better and being more consistent going forward. Pacific is always a good field."

- Following Barnes, sophomores Tavin Boman and Nick Fry both finished the final round under par. Boman had one eagle, four birdies, and four bogeys in a final round 2-under 70. Fry had five birdies, two bogeys, and one double bogey to finish the day at 1-under 71. Both players tied for 57th at 3-over 219.Â
- Junior Dillon Jonke and senior Domenic De Luca both tied for 92nd at 10-over 226. De Luca had a pair of birdies in a final round 3-over 75, while Jonke had one eagle on Tuesday to finish at 5-over 77.
- Three Matadors also competed in the Air Force Silver Individual tournament, with junior Liam Judkins (-6, 138) finishing third at 8-under 208 following rounds of 70-68-70. Judkins had six birdies and eight pars on Monday. Junior Ethan Posthumus also finished in the top 15, placing 12th at 3-under 213 following rounds of 68-73-72. Senior Yuo Torii finished 28th at 6-over 222 following rounds of 78-72-72.
