Twenty-Two CSUN Track & Field Members Earn MPSF All-Academic Team Honors

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---Twenty-two student-athletes from the CSUN Track & Field teams received recognition for their work in the classroom as members of the 2026 MPSFÂ Indoor All-Academic Teams, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.Â
To qualify for the MPSF All-Academic team, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 or greater cumulative grade point average, be at least a sophomore academically, complete one full academic year at the institution prior to this season and compete in fifty percent or more of the institution's competition for the season.
Thirteen members of the Matador men's track & field team earned all-academic honors, leading all men's teams in the MPSF this season. The Matador women would boast nine student-athletes on the all-academic team.
Earning all-academic accolades from the men's team included Thomas Achten, Layne Buck, Tylor Connelly, Cesar Cuevas, Tui Edwin, Daniel Harper, Caleb Harrell, Elijah Ignacio, Francisco Isiordia, Gabe Martinez, Walter Pierce, Jayden Smith and Elijah Stenberg. The award is the third in Ignacio's career while the group of Connelly, Edwin, Isiordia and Martinez are repeat honorees.Â
The following Matador women earned the honor this season: Amani Britton, Savannah Ganter, Camryn Harris, Emily Hutchinson, Ami Jacobson, Ashleigh Porter, Katherine Shipp-Davis, Chandler Smith and Simone Smith. Both Britton and Hutchinson received their second career academic award from the MPSF.Â
