Griffin Walters appeared in 27 or 28 matches and 95 of CSUN's 98 sets during the 2023 season ... earned honorable mention All-Big West honors for the first time in his career after finishing second to Kyle Hobus (341) with a career-high 265 kills ... averaged 2.79 kills per set while hitting .253 on a career-high 625 attacks ... led CSUN with 31 aces which ranked eighth in the Big West and 24th nationally ... heads into his final season with 71 career aces which is five aces away from entering the CSUN Rally Scoring era top 10 ... also finished fourth on the Matadors with a career-high 119 digs, averaging 1.25 digs per set ... put up a career-best 36 blocks, including four solo stuffs ... reached double figures in kills 12 times, including a career-high 20 kills on .417 hitting against Daemen (Mar. 18) ... also had 19 kills, hitting .389 in CSUN's 3-2 win at Princeton (Feb. 8) ... took a career-high 40 swings in the Matadors' 3-2 win over No. 6 Stanford (Feb. 3) ... served a season-high four aces against both The Master's (Jan. 18) and Benedictine (Feb. 16) ... was one of four Matadors named to the 2023 Big West All-Academic Team.
CSUNÂ - 2022 (Junior)
Walters started all 22 matches and was the only Matador to appear in all 72 of CSUN's sets in 2022 ... finished third on the team with a season-high 147 kills while averaging 2.04 kills per set which ranked 18th in the Big West ... led CSUN with a season-high 28 aces which ranked sixth among Big West players ... has 46 career aces heading into his fourth season ... also led the Matadors with 97 digs while averaging 1.35 digs per set which also ranked in the top-20 in the Big West ... also posted a season-high 23 blocks which included one solo stuff ... knocked down a season-high 14 kills on .423 hitting in CSUN's 3-0 win over UC Merced (Feb. 4) ... also had 10 kills at No. 12 Stanford (Feb. 18) and at No. 4 Hawai'i (Mar. 25) ... hit a season-high .476 with 10 kills on 21 errorless swings at Stanford ... posted a season-high 10 digs, along with seven kills, at No. 7 USC (Feb. 10) ... served a season-high four aces against Vanguard (Feb. 9) ... was one of two Matadors named to the 2022 Big West All-Academic Team.

Walters started all 11 matches and appeared in 40 of CSUN's 41 sets during the abbreviated season ... finished second on the Matadors to Daniel Wetter (110) with 87 kills while averaging 2.18 kills per set which ranked 13th in the Big West ... also ranked fourth on the team in digs (40), aces (6) and blocks (16) ... knocked down a career-high 17 kills on a career-high 36 attacks (.333) at No. 13 UC San Diego (Apr. 3) ... also took a career-high 36 swings against No. 7 Long Beach State (Apr. 16) ... reached double digits in kills four times; at No. 12 UC Irvine (Mar. 20), vs. No. 12 UC Irvine (Mar. 21), at No. 13 UCSD (Apr. 3) and at No. 7 LBSU (Apr. 16) ... narrowly missed his first collegiate double-double with a career-high 11 digs and nine kills in CSUN's 3-2 win against the No. 7 Beach ... set a career-high with 3.0 blocks in three different matches ... was one of two Matadors named to the 2021 Big West All-Academic Team.
CSUNÂ - 2020 (Freshman)
Walters appeared in 10 matches and 34 sets during his freshman season at CSUN ... finished fourth on the team with 82 kills while averaging 2.41 kills per set ... hit .242 on 194 attacks which also ranked fourth on the squad ... tied for third with 12 aces, averaging 0.35 aces per set which ranked 10th in the Big West ... added 33 digs (0.97 dps) and nine total blocks ... connected for 10 kills, hitting .381 in his collegiate debut against Menlo (Jan. 24) ... put down a season-high 16 kills on a season-high 31 swings to hit .387 in CSUN's 3-0 win over Vanguard (Feb. 21) ... notched 15 kills on .481 hitting to go with a season-high eight digs against USC (Jan. 31) ... hit a season-high .636 with eight kills and a single hitting error on 11 attacks vs. UC Merced (Feb. 14) ... also had a season-high six aces against the Bobcats ... was named Big West Freshman of the Week on Feb. 24.

Walters was a four-year letter winner in volleyball at El Camino Fundamental High School in Sacramento, Calif. ... earned second-team AVCA Boys High School All-America honors ... was named Capital Athletic League Most Valuable Player following both the 2018 and 2019 seasons ... also garnered all-league honors in 2017 ... the Eagles finished as CIF Division II runners-up in 2018 and 2019 ... graduated in 2019.
