OUTDOOR: Montes competed in four meets ... finished 14th in the 800m prelims with a time of 1:57.06 at the Big West Championships (5/10/24) ... ran a time of 4:07.98 in the 1500m to take second place at the UCLA Legends Invitational (4/13/24) ... posted a season-best 800m time of 1:53.57 at the Bryan Clay Invitational (4/12/24) ... earned Big West All-Academic Team honors.
CSUN - 2023 (Junior)
OUTDOOR: Ran the 800m at six events...posted a season-best of 1:53.10 at the Bryan Clay Invitational ... season-best fifth (1:53.77) came at the season-opening UCSB Invitational ... charted a time of 1:56.88 to place 13th in the preliminaries of the Big West Championships.
INDOOR: Did not compete.

A member of the cross country team at Santa Monica College from 2018-19 … four-mile best time was 21:34.3, four-meter best time was 23:58.9 … competed in the CCCAA Southern California Regionals in 2018 and 2019 … competed for the Santa Monica College track team in 2022 … finished 11th in the 800m preliminaries of the 2022 CCCAA Southern California Preliminaries with a time of 1:57.16 … best time in the 1500m was 4:05.24.

Son of Deivid Henriquez and Karen Melendez … favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Mookie Betts, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Elizabeth Olson, Prison Break, Interstellar, Burritos, the Los Angeles Azules, Bad Bunny, and MLB.com … chose CSUN because a mentor of his trusted the coaching staff and they would be the one to help him improve ... says his greatest sports moment so far is breaking his PR in the 800m at the Olympic Training Center in San Diego … says the best thing about being an athlete is the discipline and hard work it brings to become a better person … says the toughest thing about being a student athlete is fully committing and making the sacrifices no one else is willing to do … says the best the athlete he has competed against so far is UCLA’s Clifton Thomas … the most famous person he has met is Cordae … the person in history he would like to meet is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson … would like to switch places for one day with Chris Brown … the two people he would like to have dinner with are Drake and Elon Musk … the best advice he has been given by Nipsey Hussle who said you gotta go hard, you have to believe in yourself … his advice to young people is do what you love doing, we all fail, it is the matter how you overcome that frailer which makes us great … his greatest hero is Nipsey Hussle who came from nothing and just kept believing in himself when no one else would, he knew it took time to become great, it does not happen overnight.
