OUTDOOR: Smith competed in four races ... finished sixth in the 1500m with a time of 4:14.58 at the UCLA Legends Invitational (4/13/24) ... recorded a season-best in the 800m of 1:58.89 at the Triton Invitational (4/7/24).
INDOOR: Competed in two meets ... finished 14th in the 600m with a time of 1:26.63 at the Friday Night Ax 'Em Open (1/12/24) ... recorded an 800m time of 1:58.70 at the UW Invite (1/27/24).
PRIOR TO CSUN
A 2023 graduate of Folsom High School … qualified for the CIF State Cross Country Championships as a junior … finished 10th in the CIF San-Joaquin Section Cross Country Championships as a junior, 11th as a senior, and 31st as a freshman … placed second at the 2020 SFL Cross Country Championships … named team’s Outstanding Cross Country Athlete of the Year on two occasions … named first-team All-League … cross country prep-bests were 19:56.7 in the 3000m, 12:41.4 in the 4000m, 15:27 in the 5000m, and 17:00.1 in the 3.2 miles … is fourth in school history in the 5k … was fourth in the 800m at the 2022 CIF-SJS Division I Finals and 11th in the 800m at the CIF-SJS Section Masters Finals … placed fourth in the 800m at the 2021 Sierra Foothill League Finals … named school’s Outstanding Track Athlete of the Year two times … a second-team All-League selection … holds a portion of the school DMR record … track prep bests were 52.30 in the 400m, 1:57.08 in the 800m, 4:24.17 in the 1600m, and 9:29.00 in the 3200m … is fourth in school history in the 800m, fifth in the 3200m, and seventh in the 1600m.

Son of Bruce Smith and Breean Young … stepfather is Robert Young … favorites include the Las Vegas Raiders, Michael Jordan, Jonah Hill, The Wolf of Wall Street, Cheeseburgers with no onion or pickles, Drake, Yeat, and Google.com … chose CSUN because of the radiology program and it has always been a dream of his to run at the Division I level … says greatest sports moment is when he and two of his teammates went 1,2,3, and a win at our league championship xc race, which was big for us because our school hadn't won the league in over 25 years … says the best thing about being an athlete is being self-dedicated to the sport and academics, feeling amazing after you hit a goal, or just feeling relieved after a race or workout and being known around school and representing the whole school while you're doing a sport … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is not getting distracted by other people's opinions or what other people think you should do, it is also hard not to quit or give up because of the intensity and pressure you get from workouts, teammates, or races … says the best athlete he has competed against is Matt Strangio … says the most famous people he has met are the Golden State Warriors during their NBA Championship victory parade … would like to switch places for one day with Mr. Beast … the best advice he has been given is be yourself … his advice to young people is be yourself, don't do drugs, and don’t give into peer pressure … his greatest hero is his father because he is his role model and he showed him how to take care of himself.
