OUTDOOR: Competed in the shot, discus, and hammer at the Big West Championship...placed 12th in shot put (50-2)...had a season best shot put of 55-1)...had a season best toss of 182-10 in the hammer throw...posted a season-best toss of 164-8 in the discus...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Competed in the shot put at the MPSF Championship, finishing 23rd with a season-best throw 54-10 3/4...had a season best throw of 53-8 1/2 in the weight throw in the season opening New Mexico Cherry & Silver...named Academic All-MPSF.
2015 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Competed in the shot, discus, and hammer throw events at the Big West Championship...placed sixth in the discus throw with a season best heave of 168-0...placed ninth in the shot put with a season best throw of 50-8...was ninth in the hammer (167-9) at the Big West Championship...posted a season best throw of 173-3) in the hammer at the Triton Invitational.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of Arcadia High School...earned All-League honors for the Apaches track & field squad in 2014 and was San Gabriel Valley champion in the shot and discus...was also a running back and linebacker for the football team...graduated with a 3.5 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Kelly and Kwang Bae Ji...favorites include the Ohio State Buckeyes, New Zealand shot putter Jacko Gill and the movie "American Sniper"....says his greatest sports moment was his "first time throwing 50 feet in the shot put in high school"....says his pre-meet ritual is "closing my eyes and visualizing what I'm going to do".
