OUTDOOR: Posted season bests in the 400m and 1500m during the Aztec Open on Mar. 25...ran :55.46 in the 400 to finish fourth...his 4:28.30 during the 1500m resulted in an 18th-place showing...ran the 800m in three different events...posted season best in the 800m at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival on Apr. 1 (1:58.57).
INDOOR: Ran the 800m in one event, the Jan. 22 New Mexico Cherry & Silver...posted a time of 1:59.98 to finish 14th.
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in four of seven events...posted 5k best (17:34.10) during the Sept. 1 Pepperdine Invitational...ran 6k best at the Oct. 17 Highlander Invitational, 20:53.50...charted 8k best (29:20.90) at the San Francisco Invitational on Sept. 5.
HIGH SCHOOL:  A 2015 graduate of Escondido High School...was named track team MVP as a senior in 2015...the Cougars won the league track & field championship in 2014...top 800 meter time was 1:58...graduated with a 3.95 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Kate and Daniel DeJong...has one brother, Russell...favorites include "my fantasy football team" and the first season of "True Detective"...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "keeping up a routine"...listens to disco as a pre-meet ritual.
