OUTDOOR: Ran the 800m four times, posting a season-best 1:57.73, to finish a season-best seventh at the UC Riverside Chris Rinne Twilight...competed on the 4x400m relay for CSUN at the Steve Scott Invitational with the team coming in ninth.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CSUN CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in three events...finished 36th to begin the season at the Anteater Open, running 22:38.5 on the 6k course...was 60th on the 8k Pepperdine Waves Invitational, going 30:02.4...lowered his best in the 8k to 27:40 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational in final appearance of season (208th overall).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2022 graduate of Granada Hills High School…finished 22nd in the 2021 LA City Finals after placing ninth at the 2021 LA City Prelims…was eighth at the 2021 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational and ninth at the 2021 West Valley League Finals…charted in 58th at the 2019 LA City Finals after coming in 22nd at the 2019 LA City Prelims…was 18th at the 2018 West League Finals and 25th at the 2019 West League Finals…posted three-mile prep best at the 2021 Cool Breeze Invitational of 16.17.2…prep bests were 11:03.40 at two miles and 16:50.4 at 5000m…finished sixth in the 800m at the 2022 CIF Los Angeles City Section Finals in a prep best time of 2:00.20…placed second in the 1600m (prep best time of 4:29.85) and third in the 800m at the 2022 West League Finals…turned in a sixth-place showing the 800m at the 2019 LA City Finals and was seventh in the 800m at the 2021 LA City Finals…received the Presidential Gold Seal Award for Academic Excellence and Golden State Seal Merit Diploma with High Honors
PERSONAL:  Son of Bernardo Abrego and Silvia Fernandez…twin sister Sofia is running cross country and track for Dartmouth…favorites include Alex Honnold, Brad Pitt, Zoe Kravitz, City of God, Ceviche, The Smiths, Billy Joel, and Youtube.com…chose CSUN because of the track team, the coaching staff, to not have his little sister say bye to both of her older siblings at the same time, because of the business program and that is his first choice for major, and because of how close the campus is to where I live…says greatest sports moment so far is seeing his twin sister win the LA City Championships as a freshman in the 800, 1600, and 3200, on the same day…says the best thing about being an athlete is breaking you limits…says the toughest thing about being an athlete is impatience…says the best athlete he has competed against is his twin sister Sofia...the most famous person he has met is Kanye West…the person in history he would like to meet is Jesse Owens…the best advice he has been given is to live in the present…his advice to young people is give everything your all while giving yourself time for recovery and relaxation…says his greatest hero is his twin sister Sofia because she has overcome so much to get to where she is now, he is am proud of her and her determination.
