CSUNÂ - 2023Â (Senior)
Taylan Cook was one of three Matadors (Hobus, Tello) to start all 28 matches while playing in all 98 sets in his second season at CSUN ...as the Matadors' primary libero, led the team with 153 digs while averaging 1.56 digs per set ... also added 62 assists which ranked third on the team ... was CSUN's leader in digs in 13 of 28 matches ... had double figures in digs twice in 2023, including a career-best 20 digs in CSUN's 3-2 win over No. 6 Stanford (Feb. 3) ... also had 16 digs in the Matadors' five-set win at NJIT (Feb. 10) ... notched a season-high five assists against both Princeton (Feb. 8) and Benedictine (Feb. 16) ... recorded his first CSUN kill against Benedictine ... was one of four Matadors named to the 2023 Big West All-Academic Team.
CSUNÂ - 2022 (Junior)
Cook appeared in 20 of CSUN's 22 matches while playing in 58 sets in his first season after transferring from Loyola-Chicago ... made 14 starts as the CSUN libero ... finished fourth on the Matadors with 61 digs while averaging 1.05 digs per set ... also contributed 17 assists over 20 matches ... had a season-high nine digs at Long Beach State (Apr. 15) and against UC Santa Barbara in the first round of the Outrigger Big West Championship (Arp. 21) ... posted seven digs in the Matadors' four-set win over No. 12 Stanford (Feb. 26) ... had four digs and a season-high three assists in CSUN's 3-0 win over Vanguard (Feb. 9) ... also had three assists, along with three digs against UC Merced (Feb. 4).
LOYOLA-CHICAGO - 2021 (Sophomore)
Cook appeared in 33 sets over 10 matches and contributed 1.24 digs and 0.18 assists per set … appeared in only two matches after February 13 … totaled a season-best six digs on three occasions – versus Queens (Jan. 23), at Saint Francis (Jan. 30) and versus Lindenwood (Feb. 13).
LOYOLA-CHICAGO - 2020Â (Freshman)
Cook appeared in 12 matches and 41 sets during the abbreviated 2020 season ... registered 36 digs (0.88 per set) and 17 assists (0.41 per set) … posted four digs along with a pair of assists in his collegiate debut against King (Jan. 2) … posted a season-high six digs against Barton (Feb. 1) and equaled that season high while handing out out a season-high five assists against Purdue Fort Wayne (Feb. 8) ... had five digs and two assists against No. 1 Hawai’i (Jan. 18) … was named to the MIVA All-Academic Team.
SAGE CREEK HIGH SCHOOL
Cook was a two-year letterwinner at Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad, Calif. … played both outside hitter and libero for the Bobcats ... was an AVCA first-team All-American, an honorable mention Volleyball Magazine All-American as well as a Fab-50 selection as a senior libero in 2019 ... was named CIF/San Diego Section Libero of the Year ... his team won Valley League championships in 2018 and 2019 and was 2019 CIF/San Diego Section Open Division runners-up ... graduated in 2019.
