2012 (SENIOR): Finished second in the UNLV Invitational Sept. 29 in a time of 19:05.50 over the 5k course...placed eighth at the Triton Invitational Oct. 6, running 22:39.10 on the 6k course...was seventh at the CSUN Invitational (18:30.27) on the 5k course...placed 10th (19:15.10) during the Sept. 15 Aztec Invitational (5k)...finished 39th at the Big West Championships (21:54.10).
2011 (JUNIOR): Opened the season by placing 118th at the Asics/Fullerton meet (25:52.90)...was 140th (20:43.30) at the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational...finished 117th (23:29.0) at the UC Riverside Invitational...recorded season-best 30th at the UNLV Invitational (20:12.00)...placed 51st (23:33.92) at the Northridge Invitational...finished 53rd at the Big West Championship (22:57.40).
2010 (SOPHOMORE): Placed 48th (19:10.3) to open the season at the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational...was the top CSUN finisher at the UC Riverside Invitational (18:39.3, 97th)...ran 24:26 (149th) at the Stanford Invitational...charted top finish, 35th at the Northridge Invitational (22:39.30)...
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent one season (2009) at Vanguard University...competed in both track and cross country for the Lions...ran the 10,000m, 3,000m and 400m on the track and the 6k for the cross country squad...top time in the 6k was 24:08.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Reseda High School...earned the CIF Track & Field award as a senior in 2009...also earned the Track & Field Scholar Athlete award in the LAUSD in 2008...the Regents won league cross country championships in 2007 and 2008...graduated with a 3.5 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Felicitas Luna and Gilberto Zainos...major is Spanish...has two sisters, Maria and Leti and one brother, Daniel...favorites include the TV show "Deal Or No Deal", tacos, salads and the music of Sin Bandera...favorite website is Facebook...enjoys watching movies with her family in her spare time...says the name of her autobiography would be "Anything is Possible."
