2021 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Improved her personal best in the discus by nearly five feet to 124-1 in the preliminaries of the discus during the Big West Championship May 15...she did not advance and placed 20th overall...posted season-best finish in the discus of fourth on two occasions (Cal Poly Spring Break Challenge and Matador Invitational)...charted season-best finish and season-best distance in the shot put at the Apr. 23 Matador Invitational when she was fifth with a toss of 33-0 1/2.
INDOOR: DId not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2020 graduate of Ukiah High School…posted prep-bests of 37-11 1/2 in the shot put and 105-7 in the discus…selected to the 2020 All-Redwood Empire Team…lettered in basketball and named team MVP as a sophomore…graduated with a 3.33 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Donavan Cunningham and Donnetta King…a FCS/nutrition and dietetics major...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Bob’s Burgers, Naruto, The Great Gatsby, Sushi, Jamaican Food, 21 Pilots, and Dababy...chose CSUN after establishing a relationship with Matadors’ throws coach Sean Denard, the location, and her academic program…says the best thing about being an athlete is meeting new people and learning new things from them as well as laughing and having a good time with all my teammates, she finds it to be a big stress reliever for me and it’s just so fun, I love it!..says the worst thing about being an athlete is plans having to be canceled because of her commitments to her sport…the person in history she would like to meet is Martin Luther King, Jr…her greatest hero is her mom because she is her number one supporter and my biggest motivator…she feels that every time she feels like giving up on something she helps her out and allows her to see that she can do it and should not give up.
