Â
Earning his second Big West Men's Field Athlete of the Week nod this season, is junior Erick Loomis. Loomis reset his own school record in the hammer throw to highlight action at the Triton Invitational. Loomis, who initially broke the mark on Mar. 24 with a throw of 211-4 at the Northridge Invitational, surpassed that distance by more than 12 feet. His clearance of 223-11 represents the 15th best performance in Division I this season and earned him a second-place finish at the meet. Loomis ranks No. 3 in the West Region with that measurement, trailing only Gleb Dudarev of Kansas (243-11) and Washington State's Brock Eager (228-03).
