
CSUN Tennis Wins Fourth in a Row, Defeat Radford 5-2

NORTHRIDGE, Calif -- The CSUN women's tennis team won its fourth in a row as the Matadors defeated Radford (5-2) to move to 7-3 on the season Wednesday afternoon at the Matador Tennis Complex.
"We are playing well overall and should have confidence in ourselves to go into a match with a very good team. We are young and that shows from time to time, but we are improving day to day, one step at a time."

CSUN continues conference play as the Matadors take on Cal State Fullerton Saturday at 11 a.m. The Titans are 7-2 overall this season and 3-0 in Big West play.

- CSUN started off the scoring by taking the doubles point.
- Skyla Alcon and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso defeated Malin Falk and Katey Fruehauf 6-2 on Court No. 2, while Emma Roenholt and Sibel Demirbaga clinched the doubles victory with a win over Anastasia Belyaeva and Jeanine Acierto (6-2) on Court No. 3.
- The Matadors got the quick 2-0 lead when Roenholt defeated Tyler Blalock in straight sets (6-1, 6-2) on Court No. 5.
- Lauren Anderson got her third win of the season and the third point of the day for CSUN as she took care of Acierto (6-0, 6-3).
- The Highlanders got on the board when their best player, Drousile Dzeubou defeated Jolene Coetzee in straight sets on Court No. 1 (6-2,6-2).
- Demirbaga would clinch the match for the Matadors as she took down Freuhauf on Court No. 4 (6-2, 7-5).
- Belyaeva had a back and forth match with Alcon on Court No. 2, which ended up going into ten points in set three. The Highlanders got the upper-hand in this matchup, ending (4-6, 6-2, 10-7) in favor of Radford.
- CSUN would earn its fifth point off a valiant effort from Fraile Toboso, who after having took a nasty fall during the second set, fought back to win her point in three sets. She went to 10 points as well in set three, after initially dropping the second set.
