NORTHRIDGE, Calif -- The CSUN women's tennis team continued its winning streak, notched their first win in conference play, and took down one of the top teams in the Big West, Cal State Fullerton as the Matadors won a close one, 4-3 at the Matador Tennis Complex Saturday afternoon.
After reaching match point twice in conference matches earlier this season, the Matadors finally got over the hump against the Titans, a team that had not lost in Big West play so far this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
"We've had close matches with conference opponents before today and I think that prepared them for the win. I think we picked up confidence with some wins lately. Having a winning record pushed positivity. This was a great win. Fullerton is so well coached and that team doesn't beat itself. This was a breakthrough moment for us. This is the most important win in a couple years. This win feels like we are back on the map."
UP NEXT:
The Matadors will host Omaha on Tuesday at 11 a.m. The Mavs are 3-12 on the season.
