No. 21 CSUN Opens Big West Play at Home Against No. 15 LBSU

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---No. 21 CSUN Water Polo team (13-12, 0-0 BWC) opens up Big West play this weekend as the Matadors host No. 15 Long Beach State (11-10) on Saturday at noon.
- The Matadors are trying to extend their three game winning streak after coming off of back-to-back wins against Connecticut College and Austin College on Tuesday on a day where CSUN amassed 33 goals in total, including a 20-3 win over Austin College.
- Tori Wilson leads the Matadors in goals with 53. The junior transfer from Kitchener, Ontario also heads the team in steals at 32.
- Maddasone Butler leads the team in goal percentage with over half of her shots (.519) finding the back of the net on the campaign.
- Jennalyn Barthels is first in assists with 31 and blocks with 10.
- The Matadors are 6-9 in conference openers all-time.
- The last win against the 49ers came on Feb. 2, 2018 where the Matadors won in a sudden-death overtime 8-7
- The 49ers haven't dropped a match since Mar. 3 against No. 6 Michigan (16-9) and are riding a five game win streak.
- Orsi Hertzka, the freshman attacker from Hungary is leading the team in goals with 49 and a shot percentage of .891. Hertzka is also leading the squad in steals (16).
- The 49ers were 2-3 in Big West play last year, and own a 22-9 record against the Matadors all-time.
- In the last match against CSUN, LBSU won an overtime thriller that ended 10-8 in favor of the 49ers away from Northridge.
