CSUN Defeats Sacramento State 6-1 To Complete Weekend Sweep

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—CSUN completed a weekend sweep in the capital region of California by defeating Sacramento State 6-1 Sunday afternoon on Hornet Tennis Courts.

- Jolene Coetzee and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso opened the dual by defeating Jenna Dorian and Grace Dodd at No. 1 doubles 6-1. Paige Alter and Jayden Nielsen evened the doubles competition up at one when they defeated Lisa-Marie Wurst and Kailen Galazka 6-2. Ekaterina Repina and Victoria Santibañez Luna clinched the doubles point for the Matadors with a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles against Ege Tomey and Tsveti Yotova.
- Fraile Toboso began the singles portion of the dual with a 6-3, 6-3 victory against Nielsen in the No. 3 slot. Repina defeated Jenna Dorian 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 to make it 3-0 in favor of CSUN. The lone Sacramento State point came at No. 2 singles when Tomey handed Coetzee a 6-1, 6-4 defeat.
- Wurst clinched the dual for the Matadors when she rallied from one set down to defeat Yotova 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. Lauren Anderson posted a three-set victory at No. 5 singles against Alter (4-6, 6-2, 6-0). Santibañez Luan concluded the meet with a 6-1, 5-7, 10-4 victory at No. 6 singles versus Dodd.

- "We are really proud of our freshmen; Victoria, Lisa and Kailen for competing today. Victoria helped secure the doubles point with Kat in a pressure situation and Lisa clinched the match after being down a set. Lauren stepped up her game after losing the second and looked cool, calm and collected."
