Watney Invitational
after two rounds
Schrott opened the day on the No. 10 tee and was even through five holes before birdies on three of his next four holes sent him to the front nine at three-under. He then finished the opening round with seven pars, one birdie, and one bogey to cap a three-under round of 68. He then surpassed his five birdies in round one with six in round two, his final two coming on his final two holes of the day to get him to four-under 67 for the round at seven-under 135 for the tournament.
Schrott takes a two-stroke lead over both Seldon Doyle and Michael Cliff of Fresno State into Tuesday's final round. The host Bulldogs (560) lead the team competition by six shots over a trio of teams including the Matadors (566), Cal State Fullerton (566) and Sacramento State (566). A total of 14 teams are competing in the tournament. CSUN's 566 is the lowest 36-hole total for the Matadors since 2019 when they posted a two-round 560 at the same Nick Watney Invitational.

Paul-Louis Gachet is competing as an individual and is currently tied for 81st at (+18) 160 following rounds of 76-84.
COACH JIM BRACKEN SAID
"Felix played very well in both rounds, he hit a lot of greens and gave himself plenty of birdie opportunities. In his first tournament in the lineup, Nick really rose to the occasion and played well; it's nice to have a freshman come in and shoot even-par. We played well as a team but if we can clean up a few mistakes we'll be in good shape tomorrow."
CSUN will be paired with Fresno State, Sacramento State and Cal State Fullerton for Tuesday's final round.
