LAHAINA, Hawai'i - Felix Schrott fired his second consecutive round of 1-under 70 to move into the individual top-25 while the CSUN men's golf team moved up into 16th place after two rounds of the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate at Ka'anapali Golf Course.
After six straight pars to open his day, Schrott went to 2-under with birdies at No. 1 and No. 2. After going par-bogey over his next two holes to drop to 1-under, Schrott added two more birdies to get as low as 3-under on the day. Two bogeys and a pair of pars over his final four holes left Schrott at 1-under on the day and 2-under 140 for the tournament, good for a tie for 24th place.
As a team, the Matadors followed up Friday's 289 with a 290 in round two. At 11-over 579, CSUN is 16th in the 20-team field but just six shots out of 13th. Â
At 12-under 130, North Florida's Nick Gabrelcik holds the individual lead by two strokes over Clemson's Andrew Swanson (-10, 132). No. 11Â Oklahoma, winners of the Ka'anapali Classic in 2015 and 2019, leads the team competition by six shots at 22-under 546.Â

COACH JIM BRACKEN SAID
"Obviously the course played a lot tougher today but in the end we threw away a lot of shots. We would've liked to have put together a low team round today but the winds were tough for the entire field. Felix got as low as 3-under and is hitting the ball really well, he could pass some players tomorrow. With a good team round tomorrow, we can also pass a few teams which would be a good way to end the semester."
The Matadors will be paired with Hawai'i, Denver and Connecticut for the final round which gets underway Sunday at 8:00 a.m. local time.
