NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The CSUN Men's Volleyball team picked up its fourth consecutive win at home as the Matadors swept the visiting Saint Katherine Firebirds, 3-0 in a non-conference match Wednesday night at The Matadome.
Set scores were 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 as the Matadors improve their season record to 4-3 with all four wins coming on their home floor. The loss for the Firebirds was their 11th in 12 matches this season.

• Redshirt sophomore Kyle Hobus led all hitters in the match with 10 kills, hitting .400 on 20 attacks. Hobus also added one ace, four blocks and three digs for CSUN.
• A trio of Matadors added five kills each as Daniel Wetter hit a perfect 1.000 on five swings in his return to the lineup. Jano Tello hit .500 on eight attacks and Griffin Walters hit .333 on nine attempts. Walters also served two of CSUN's five aces. Luke Krzmarzick came off the bench to put down four kills on four swings to also hit 1.000 on the night.

COACH JEFF CAMPBELL SAID
"It was good to get another three-set win and remain undefeated on our home court. Saint Katherine played hard tonight and we never want to look past an opponent but all our focus and attention will now shift to Saturday's match against Stanford."
SET 1
Holding a slim 8-6 lead, the Matadors outscored Saint Katherine 4-1 over the next five points to lead 12-7 following a Firebird hitting error. Saint Katherine would score the next two points to trim the deficit to 12-9 before an SKU service error sent CSUN on a decisive 7-0 run that opened up a 10-point cushion at 19-9. A Troy Jackson kill cut the Matador lead to eight (20-12) before a Hobus kill sent CSUN on a set-clinching 5-3 run as the Matadors won going away 25-15.
SET 2
The second set was the tightest of the match as the teams battled through eight ties, the last coming at 9-9. A Firebird service error was followed by a Hobus ace, a CSUN triple block by Constable-Tello-Walters and a pair of SKU hitting errors as the Matadors opened up a 14-9 lead. The Matadors still led by five at 19-14 following a co-block from Hobus and Wetter when the Firebirds were whistled for a setting error giving CSUN its largest lead at 20-14. The Matadors extended their lead to seven at 23-16 when a Firebird attack went long before CSUN wound up with a 25-20 win and two-set lead. Â

SET 3
A 5-1 CSUN run snapped a 6-6 tie in the final set as the Matadors led 11-7 following a Constable ace. A Walters kill gave CSUN a 15-10 heading into the media timeout and the Matadors would score three more times to extend the margin to 18-10 on kills from Tello and Krzmarzick. CSUN would lead by as many as nine (20-11) after an SKU attack found the net. The Firebirds' 18th service error of the match set the Matadors up with match point at 24-17 and despite SKU saving three match points, Hobus' 10th and final kill of the match gave CSUN a 25-20 win.
