The Matadors wound mount an 11-0 charge that was capped off by an Amundsen fast break layup at 3:11 for a 30-14 lead. The run would get to 13-0 before a Cadee three-pointer. After leading by as many as 18, the Matadors took a 34-20 advantage into halftime.
SECOND HALF
The Anteaters chipped away at the CSUN lead. Kayla Williams' three-point play capped off an 8-2 run, reducing the Matadors' lead to 40-31 at the midway point of the third quarter. UCI scored four in a row off CSUN turnovers to make it a five-point game. A Jackson jumper slowed the Anteaters.

Williams' free throws drew UCI to 46-44 at the 1:33 mark. Cadee's free throws shortly before the third quarter buzzer capped a 26-12 10-minute span and tied the score at 46.
Webb's short jumper to start the fourth made it an 11-0 run and returned the lead to UCI for the first time since the score was 2-0. A Williams on the ensuing Anteaters possession gave UCI its largest of the game to that point, 51-46. Down 52-46, Henderson broke through with a free throw, coming at 6:52. Webb pushed CSUN down 54-46 with two free throws on the next UC Irvine possession. Amundsen matched the made free throw for CSUN the next time down.
Cadee's fast break three-pointer with just over four minutes to play put the Anteaters up 60-49. Duchemin recorded the first CSUN field goal of the fourth with a layup a little over a minute later. UCI would end up outscoring CSUN 28-6 over the final 12+ minutes of the game to make it the final 65-52.
ACCORDING TO INTERIM HEAD COACH CARLENE MITCHELL
"The first half was near perfect. The ball was moving extremely well, and we did a great job defensively on (Kayla) Williams. Give UCI credit, they adjusted, applying full-court pressure, and then dropping into a zone in the second half. We gave them too many open threes (11-of-23). Combine that with our inability to execute, those were the differences in the game."
THE NUMBERS
UC Irvine was 7-of-28 in the first half from the floor. The Anteaters made 12-of-22 field goal attempts in the second to 19-of-50 for the game (38%). The Matadors were 10-of-24 from the field in the opening 20 minutes but went 6-of-23 in the second (34% for the game). UCI shot 47.8% from three-point range (11-of-23) while CSUN was 5-of-13 (38.5%).
CSUN outrebounded UCI 34-31. The Matadors committed 15 of their 21 turnovers in the second half as UC Irvine made 12 steals. The Anteaters committed 13 turnovers while CSUN made nine steals. Sydney Woodley charted two of the steals for the Matadors, raising her season total to 56.
Webb was 6-for-11 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line to score her 20.
