NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN returns home for a pair of Big West Conference women's basketball games this week. The Matadors (7-12, 3-6 Big West) welcome Cal Poly to the Matadome Thursday for a 5 p.m. start.

The Mustangs broke an 11-game losing streak on Feb. 3 when Cal Poly defeated Cal State Fullerton 61-52 in San Luis Obispo. Cal Poly fell 65-64 in double overtime to Big West co-leader Long Beach State last Saturday at home. Cal Poly is 2-14 overall, 1-6 in Big West play.

Maddie Vick is the team leader in scoring (10.4). She is fifth in the conference in assists (4.1) and eighth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.2). Kirsty Brown is second in the Big West in blocked shots (1.2) and eighth in rebounding (6.5). CSUN defeated Cal Poly 54-45 Jan. 8 in San Luis Obispo to take a 43-40 all-time series lead.

The Matadors host CSU Bakersfield Saturday afternoon in a 2 p.m. matchup. Saturday will serve as CSUN's Play for Kay game. The Play for Kay program helps the Matadors raise awareness in the fight against Breast Cancer. CSUN Pink T-Shirts will be given away as supplies last. Admission for CSUN students is free with an ID.
CSU Bakersfield broke a school-record 13 game losing streak Saturday when the Roadrunners defeated 76-74 in Bakersfield. CSUB is 2-13 overall, 1-5 in Big West play.

Jayden Eggleston is second in the league in scoring at 16.5 points per game. Eggleston recorded a double-double including a career-high 29 points in the victory over Cal State Fullerton. She is now 12th in the Big West in rebounding (5.7). Eggleston also leads the conference in free throw shooting (86.5).
 The Matadors and the 'Runners had their Jan. 6 game canceled due to COVID protocols in the CSUN program. The teams are playing for the first time since Jan. 2, 2014, when CSUB defeated CSUN 74-73 in overtime. The Roadrunners lead the all-time series 6-2.

The Matadors are coming off a 1-1 week. CSUN defeated UC San Diego 53-45 Feb. 3. The Matadors limited the Tritons to three points in the first quarter, the fewest allowed by a CSUN defense in a quarter since the 2015 introduction of the format.

Jordyn Jackson's 14 points led all scorers. Tess Amundsen posted 13 points. Sydney Woodley scored 12 and made four steals. Meghann Henderson charted six points and was one away from her career-high with 10 rebounds.

Chole Webb and Jayde Cadee combined for 40 of UC Irvine's 65 points as the Anteaters defeated CSUN 65-52 last Saturday. Webb was 6-for-11 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free throw line to score her 20. Cadee took all her field goal attempts from three-point range and would end up 6-for-11 to go along with two free throws for her 20. Kayla Williams scored 17 points and had seven assists for UCI.
Amundsen paced CSUN with 12 points and six rebounds. Jackson scored 11 and charted a team-high four assists.
CSUN is 76th in Division I in turnovers forced (18.37), and 129th in turnover margin (1.42). The Matador three-point field goal defense is third-best in the Big West and 88th best in Division I (28.6). CSUN is second in the Big West and 19th in Division I in steals per game (11.2). The 212 steals that the Matadors have posted are 42nd in Division I. Woodley is 13th in Division I in steals per game (2.95). Woodley is 26th in Division I in steals with 56.
