CSUN Welcomes Utah State & Youngstown State To The Matador Tennis Complex

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN concludes a four-dual women's tennis homestand this week with a pair of contests against Utah State and Youngstown State.
The Matadors host the Aggies Wednesday at 2 p.m. Utah State is 4-3 after losing at UC Davis 6-1 on Monday afternoon. The top singles player for the Aggies is Annaliese County who is 16-3. She is 8-8 in doubles with three different partners this season. CSUN and Utah State are playing for the first time in women's tennis.
The Matadors host Youngstown State on Thursday at 2 p.m. Youngstown State is 5-5 and begins a three-dual trek through California on Wednesday when the Penguins face Cal State Fullerton. After playing CSUN, Youngstown State travels to Long Beach State on Thursday. Julia Marko has posted a team-high 14 singles wins (14-9). Marko and Cecilla Rosas have recorded a squad-high 15 doubles wins (15-5).
CSUN is 4-2 after splitting a pair of events last week. The Matadors defeated UC San Diego 4-0 last Saturday to pick up CSUN's first Big West Conference victory of the year. The Matadors fell 5-1 to No. 59 Fresno State last Sunday. Sasha Turchak lost her first singles match of the year against Fresno State. She is now 4-1 in 2022 to pace the Matadors. Jolene Coetzee and Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso have the most doubles victories as the pair is 4-2.
