DAVIS, Calif.—CSUN opened the competition at the Big West Championship Friday at Woody Wilson Track.

MEN'S FINALS
- Ahmed Mohamed recorded a best of 21-8 1/4 during the first three attempts in the long jump and was not able to move forward in the event.
MEN'S PRELIMINARIES
- Chris Pitts ran :47.22 to finish second in the men's 400m to advance to the Saturday finals.
- Zavion Harper qualified for the finals of the 110m hurdles by finishing eighth (:15.05).
- In the 100m; Raphael Adedigba went :10.79 David Phillips, Jr. posted :10.81, Wyatt Wiggins, Jr. recorded a :10.83 Ramir Smith charted a :10.91 while Darrien Elzie ran :11.49. Unfortunately, no Matador advanced to the finals.
- Wyatt Wiggins, Jr. runs :22.04 in the 200m prelims while Chris Allens ran :22.17. but both did not advance forward to the finals.
- De Marq Jacque (:49.05), Eric Vivanco (:49.10), Jaylon Hartdige (:52.66) run well in the 400m but did not reach the finals.
- The 800m saw Noah Contreras go 1:55.26, but he did not move into the finals.
- In the 1500m, Daniel Rodriguez runs 4:05.51 but did not advance to the finals.
- Chris Thompson and Isaiah Rucker both recorded a mark of 6-1 1/4 in the men's high jump but did make it past the opening three leaps.
- Brianna Kelpis resets her career-best in the shot put (42-7) to finish sixth for the Matadors.
- Raeshell Austin (17-2 3/4), Sameerah Evans (17-1 1/4), and Rionna Wallace (16-1 1/2) competed in the long jump but did not advance past the opening three attempts.
WOMEN'S PRELIMINARIES
- Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck recorded a time of :13.81 in the 100m hurdles to finish second.
- Ndjip-Nyemeck led three CSUN qualifiers in the 200m. She finished second (:24.29) while Arianna Alexander placed third (:24.48) with Kaliyah Poston coming in sixth (:24.80).
- Alexander posted a :11.71 to finish second in the prelims of the 100m. Poston ran :12.03 to finish fifth. Both qualified for the finals in the event.
- Ouanessa Nana posted a time of 2:24.89 in the 800m but did qualify for the final.
- In the 1500m Leann Hamilton ran 5:13.28 while Elin Markarian went 5:27.08, but the pair did not advance to the finals.
TEAM STANDINGS
- With seven of the 21 events scored, the CSUN women are 10th (8). The Matador men have yet to post a point.
UP NEXT
- The Big West Championship continues on Saturday with the field events beginning at 9 a.m. while the track events begin at 1 p.m.
