DAVIS, Calif.— Brianna Kelpis recorded a career-best 4,575 points to finish fourth in the Big West Conference Heptathlon Saturday at Woody Wilson Track and Toomey Field on the campus of UC Davis.

"Brianna competed very well over the last two days. All the hard work that she has put into this season showed in this competition. I am proud of her. She represented our program at a high level. Her efforts have given our women's team a good start to this championship.

DAVIS, Calif.— Brianna Kelpis recorded a career-best 4,575 points to finish fourth in the Big West Conference Heptathlon Saturday at Woody Wilson Track and Toomey Field on the campus of UC Davis.
DAY 2
- Kelpis, a sophomore, recorded a leap of 17-0 3/4 on her final attempt in the long jump to finish third. She earned 614 points in the first event of the day.
- The Lancaster, Calif. native threw the javelin 126-9 on her first attempt to win the event. She recorded 641 points for her effort.
- Kelpis posted a time of 2:43.99 in the 800m to score 528 points. She placed 13th in the race to conclude the day.
- Kelpis reset career bests in the high jump (5-1), shot put (41-11 1/2), and 200m (:27.81) during the event.
- Jessica Swalve of UC Santa Barbara won the heptathlon with 5,023 points.
DAY 1
- Kelpis opened the day by running :15.67 in the 100m hurdles, which gave her a ninth-place finish and 755 points.
- Kelpis reset her career-high in the high jump when she cleared 5-1. She scored 678 points and tied for fourth in the event.
- The sophomore won the shot put with a career-best toss of 41-11 1/2. The performance resulted in 713 points.
- Kelpis ran a career-best :27.81 in the 200m to wrap up the day. She finished 12th overall, scoring 646 points.
