CSUN Track & Field Travels to Fresno State Bulldog Classic

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams return to competition this week at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic.
Friday's action will be conducted on the Fresno State campus at Warmerdam Field and features the men's and women's hammer at noon and the men's and women's javelin at 3 p.m. The meet moves to Clovis, Calif., at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Field events begin at 10 a.m., with the running events starting at noon.
THE LAST TIME OUT
The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams combined opened the outdoor season began at the UCSB Gauchos Invitational on Mar. 11.
MEN
The 4x100m relay of Wyatt Wiggins, Jr., Logan Davis, Ramir Smith, and David Phillips, Jr. won the event in a time of :41.44.
The 4x400m "A" relay of Davis, Phillips, Jr., Smith, and Luke DaVanon took the top honors after running 3:12.60. The Matadors "B" squad of Chris Pitts, De Marq Jaque, Wiggins, Jr., and Xavier Bradford were. the runner-up in a time of 3:13.48.
Noah Contreras placed second (1:50.30) in the 800m. Contreras' time is the fifth fastest in school history.
Joseph Alipranti finished second in the Hammer throw with a personal best toss of 183-9.
Joey Nations placed second in the long jump (22-9) and fourth in the 100m (:11.07).
Guillermo Lopez was second in the shot (52-9 1/2) and sixth in the discus (152-9).
WOMEN
Arianna Alexander was victorious in the 200m. Alexander's winning time was :24.85.
Charne-Lee Olkers won the 100m hurdles in a time of :14.13.
Jada Reese turned in a runner-up showing in the 100m as she went :12.37. She was also second in the 200m (:25.38).
Alba Moreno Paredes finished second in the high jump (5-1 1/4). She was fourth in the triple jump (34-5 1/2).
Emily Hutchinson earned second in the shot (44-9 1/2).
Katherine Shipp-Davis was second in the discus (155-2) and ninth in the Hammer Throw (127-6).
