Matadors Win Seven Events at Bulldog Classic

CLOVIS, Calif.—The CSUN men's and women's track and field teams recorded seven individual victories at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic Saturday at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
MEN
David Phillips, Jr. won two events. First, he was the 100m winner after running :10.79. Then, he led a 1-2-3-4-5 Matadors finish in the 200m by posting a :21.29 performance.
Logan Davis ran the third fastest 400m performance by a CSUN freshman to win the 400m in a time of :47.59. His time should place Davis in the top 25 of the West Region by the time the weekend ends. Davis also placed third in the 200m (:21.74).
Zavion Harper recorded a personal best of :14.65 to win the 110m hurdles. He won the race by over a second.
Joey Nations won the high jump by going 5-11 1/4. Nationals also placed third in the long jump (22-2 1/4).
James Crawford placed second in the 100m (:10.91) and was second in the 200m (:21.56).
Dillon Peters finished second in the long jump with a leap of 22-10 1/2.
Guillermo Lopez was the runner-up in the shot put with a toss of 51-9 1/4. In addition, he turned in a third-place showing in the discus (150-11).
De Marq Jaque placed second in the 400m (:47.82) and was fifth in the 200m (:22.91).
Elijah Ignacio earned second in the discus (155-9) after coming in sixth in the shot put (48-7 1/2).

Ramir Smith, 100m, 3rd (:11.05) • 200m, 4th (:21.96).
Luke DaVanon, 400m, 3rd (:48.76) • 200m, 10th (:22.56).
Bryson Williams, Triple Jump, 3rd (45-9 1/4) • Long jump, 6th (21-4 3/4).
Ja'Patrick Smith, 800m, 5th (1:59.77).
Alec Froning, 400m, 6th (:50.66).
Tzu-Ting Chan, Triple Jump, 4th (45-0 1/4) • Long Jump, 8th (20-11 1/4).
Jonrich Dela Cruz, Long Jump, 7th (21-4).
Francisco Isiordia, Shot Put, 7th (45-10 1/2).
Xavier Bradford, 200m, 8th (22.47).
WOMEN
Arianna Alexander was victorious in the 100m, running :11.91 to take the race. Alexander's time should place her in the top 50 of the West Region by the weekend's end. She also entered the 200m, finishing eighth (:25.37).
Charne-Lee Olkers won the 100m hurdles in a CSUN personal best time of :14.01. That time should put Olkers in the top 35 of the West Region when the weekend closes. Then, Olkers returned to run in the 200m, where she was the top Matadors' finisher as she came in sixth in a personal best :25.14.
Jada Reese came in second to Alexander in the 100m. Reese ran :12.18. Reese competed in the 200m, where she placed seventh (:25.37).
Leann Hamilton finished second in the 800m by going 2:21.28. She also entered the 1500m, where she placed 10th (4:55.13).
